Long time no hear! Sorry, but the last weeks and months have flown by. In future I promise to be in contact more regularly.
Since Wednesday I’ve been at Silverstone with my Force India team. The race track is just 500 meters away. The team and I view it as a home race. At Silverstone the guys from the factory who otherwise don’t get to see races have the chance to see a live race.
Silverstone has so much tradition and the track is one of the few that have bends that still require some courage. You always have to reckon with rain as well. I’m very fond of the course, especially the fast stretches - they’re great fun.
Recent races have been very encouraging for us. For the second time running I managed to make the 2nd qualification cut. That’s a major victory for us. Unfortunately no points as yet, despite coming very close on a couple of occasions. On the other hand I was involved in a couple of great duals with Lewis Hamilton and Barrichello. Who would have thought at the start of the season that Mercedes McLaren would be battling it out with Force India? Or that Button would win six out of seven races with Brawn GP and probably have wrapped up the championship? The world of F1 has been turned on its head this year.
At Silverstone the team are working on another set of improvements to the car. Our engineers are hoping for great things. If they’re as good as the last ones we should have another chance of reaching Q2. The next race at the Nürburgring will then be my real home race. I always look forward to racing at the Ring and this time I hope to pull off a good home result. I will in touch in the meantime. Until then here’s hoping for an exciting race!
Yours,
Adrian
